HD HYUNDAI PROVIDES CMA CGM WITH THE GLOBE'S INITIAL "LASHING-FREE" CONTAINERSHIP
DETAIL INFORMATION
South Korean shipbuilding firm HD Hyundai has announced the delivery of its initial container ship featuring the company’s newly designed "Lashing-Free" system, which removes the necessity for workers to manually fasten containers on the vessel. It emphasizes the advantages of greater capacity and improved handling, while also indicating that the system can withstand severe weather and offer additional benefits to the vessels.
The system was set up on a new container vessel constructed for CMA CGM, which carried out sea trials in September. The vessel can hold 13,000 TEU and utilizes HD Hyundai’s hybrid Lashing-Free Technology. The vessel is powered by methanol and seems to utilize a standard configuration for the arrangement of containers on deck.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announces it has independently created and confirmed all essential elements of the Lashing-Free technology. HD Hyundai Samho handled the comprehensive design and building of the ship that includes the system.
