The Central region was set up with the commissioning of the ICD at Nagpur in January 1997. Located at the geographical center of the country, Nagpur is the natural logistics hub for the Indian Sub-continent for movement of International and Domestic cargo. The "Zero Mile" at Nagpur is not merely a geographical reality, but is becoming the focal point of logistics infrastructure. It is the converging point of the nations’ railway and road network linking a vast hinterland.
