WHY 81% OF MARITIME FIRMS ARE TESTING AI, YET ONLY 11% ARE PREPARED TO EXPAND
DETAIL INFORMATION
AI has become a key focus in maritime boardrooms, yet aspirations haven't translated into preparedness. Recent industry studies show a notable gap in the adoption of AI in maritime. Although 82 percent of maritime experts think AI can enhance efficiency, just 23 percent of firms are educating employees to utilize it. Even more revealing, 81 percent are conducting pilots, yet only 11 percent possess the policies and safeguards necessary for expansion.
These were some of the headlines from "Beyond the Hype: The Maritime Industry's True Views on AI and Its Functional Applications," a thorough study carried out by Thetius in collaboration with Marcura.
The disparity shown in the study is more about implementation than algorithms. It indicates a gap between the aspirations of the board and the organizational preparedness needed to convert promising proofs-of-concept into routine instruments on the bridge and within the back office.
