An innovative agreement between MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company and a freight forwarder asks for one of the largest uses of biofuel in order to meet the growing concerns of shippers to lower their overall carbon footprint. Large shippers are under increasing pressure to address carbon emissions throughout their supply networks, including components like shipping that, up until now, have been largely beyond their control. According to the agreement, MSC is developing a carbon reduction programme that is widely accessible to DB Schenker's shipping clients and leads to an instant reduction in emissions. It serves as an example for others to follow as well.
