  • CMA CGM, OOCL, AND ONE LAUNCH NEW GENERATION OF CONTAINERSHIPS

    DETAIL INFORMATION

With the expansion of the record orderbook for new container ships underway, a new generation of vessels is being launched that features advanced technologies. CMA CGM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) all achieved significant milestones with their latest shipments.

CMA CGM launched its latest ship in Le Havre, France, on July 2 after completing its inaugural journey from Asia. The firm emphasizes that the CMA CGM Notre Dame is the biggest LNG-powered containership by capacity in the industry and the largest flying the French flag.

The CMA CGM Notre Dame, the first of a series of 10 new vessels, measures 399 meters (1,309 feet) long. The design of the container systems, nonetheless, increases its capacity to a nominal rating of 24,212 TEU.

The CMA CGM Notre Dame features systems that allow for real-time journey optimization, boost energy efficiency, and enhance the ship’s environmental performance. The vessel is fitted with AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems, digital navigation, and energy-efficient technologies.
