TURBINES SET UP FOR FRANCE'S TEST DEEP SEA FLOATING WIND INITIATIVE
DETAIL INFORMATION
Ocean Winds announces that it has successfully finished the third and final turbine installation for its Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL) project situated in southeastern France by the Mediterranean. Created as a pilot initiative in collaboration with Banque des Territoires, EFGL is currently the inaugural floating offshore wind farm in the Occitanie area to finish its offshore turbine installation stage.
The firm emphasizes that the initiative signifies a significant advancement for floating wind worldwide. EFGL showcases the potential of floating offshore wind in deeper waters by installing three 10 MW turbines on floating foundations, accessing high-wind regions that were previously inaccessible.
The company claims that the success of EFGL shows floating wind's preparedness for expansion, both in France and worldwide, aiding the rapid growth of offshore wind energy globally.
