TWO RSD TUGS 2513 ARE DELIVERED BY DAMEN TO TRIPMARE FOR IMPROVED PORT OPERATIONS.
DETAIL INFORMATION
Damen Shipyards Group has supplied two RSD Tugs 2513 to Tripmare, located in Italy. Tripmare will utilize the ships to address the increasing vessel traffic in the Adriatic port of Trieste. Damen has customized the established, standard design of its RSD Tug 2513 for its client, incorporating FiFi1 notation, oil recovery features, and an additional generator, while also equipping the vessels for IMO Tier III compliance with the internally developed Damen Marine NO X Reduction System. Tripmare contacted Damen to enhance its capabilities in accordance with the increasing size of ships visiting the port. This involves MSC's gigantic 24,000-container vessel, Nicola Mastro. The new tugs will take the place of a current tractor tug and an ASD Tug within the Tripmare fleet.
Alberto Cattaruzza, CEO of Tripmare, stated, "We are excited to unveil this innovative, robust, and compact design that emphasizes ecological sustainability. We eagerly anticipate the arrival of these groundbreaking tugs in Trieste.
The tugboats are called Captain Cat and Med Rigel. The latter is named after Tripmare's founder, Captain Luigi Cattaruzza. The tugs are set to leave Damen Song Cam Shipyard in week 23 and are expected to reach Italy in August.
